Search Engine Optimization (SEO) from getnoticedonline.comSM

"HELP! - Our patients cannot find us on online. . ." Sounds familiar? We know it is critical that you receive the most from your healthcare website so that your patients can find you when they need you. But how do you do this? The right content, presented correctly is how! We educate our clients not only about how search engines work but, more significantly, on how search engine users work.

First, we'll analyze the pages to be certain it's ready to be found by the search engines. We'll repair broken links, place the right marketing words on and behind your pages (where search engines look for them), and we'll consult with you on how you may want to change the text on the pages.

Writing for the web is different than writing a print ad or a brochure.  Why? Search Engines! For patients to find you when they search the web, the right words on your web page must be in place (know as Search Engine Optimization – SEO). As one of our services to you, we offer research into the popularity of phrases and words you what to be known by and include them in your web pages. When writing for your web pages, please refer to the popular phrases/words Excel sheet and "How to Write for Your New Healthcare Website" guide we provide to maximize your SEO!

  • If we created your web site we began the process of ensuring SEO at the start of your web development project not just at the end.

  • If your web site was made by another company, for a small fee we will review it and give our opinion of its strengths and weaknesses. We can tell why you are not being found in the search engines when your patients look for your medical services. Also, if there are broken links (a link that should take a web visitor from one page to another, but takes them to a missing page) or missing images on your web site. Any problem like these can hurt your practice two ways: visitors may be turned off that your web site is not up-to-date and search engines will not send you traffic, no matter how good the content

How getnoticedonline.comSM can help! - Ricky Lark, Ph.D., Search Engine Optimization Specialist, stays current on the latest search engine trends in order to built better and high quality healthcare websites. He attends multi-day search engine strategy seminars and reads newsletters about the evolving method of being found by search engine users. Search engines constantly modify their strategies on how they review each page on a website; we use our knowledge about these changes to benefit our clients.

The first of two types of search engine listings are the "organic listings" or "natural listings" which are commonly seen as results #1-10 on page 1, #11-20 on page 2, etc. Getting listed on this part is critical since 80% of the public using search engines look here. Getting your website listed here takes expertise - that is where we come in - but you don't have to pay the search engines to be listed here. Once you are in the top 30 results, you still don't have to pay them to remain there. However, we do recommend following specific ways to try to make sure you stay in the top 30 results. A lot of new pages go online each day which are competing for the top spots.

The other 20% look at the "sponsored links" which are really ads. These are also known as "pay per clicks" or PPCs as you pay to be listed at the top or on the right side when someone searches for a certain phrase. To be listed here for another version of that phrase takes more money. You stop paying for the PPC service and you are instantly taken out of the search results.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are the techniques to be listed with the organic search engine listings. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) sounds similar but this really goes towards getting listed by the pay-per-click program. You want to make sure your return-on-the-investment (ROI) is measurable when doing search engine marketing. We offer the SEO techniques as it has the longest-lasting benefit to our clients. Other companies offer SEM services and this compliments our SEO work.

How SEO benefits your healthcare website:

1. A "5 W's Form" You Complete
The 5 W’s are the "who, what, when and where" part of your practice, your audience, etc.  We created this form to obtain the information we need about your practice and services. One of the most important parts is at the end: the list of keyword phrases you think people use to find you and your services or to "google" you.

2. Keyword Phrase Research
Ricky Lark, Ph.D., did medical research for decades. Now he uses his research skills for finding the most popular phrases that will help our medical clients' websites. A specialized database is used that analyzes the phrases people have typed in search engines during the past 60-90 days. Like a thesaurus, ideas are offered regarding which phrases are more popular. The research phrase results are listed alphabetically and by popularity and provided to you in an easy to use Excel sheet.
3. Web Page Writing
The right phrases are used to enhance the text you currently have and to write new material.  You may also write more about specific aspects of your services for new material to post online.  The comments will be sent to be post online by you or your webmaster.  We also provide a "How to Write for Your New Healthcare Website" guide that will help you when writing for you site.

Change  your web site content often with the right type of searched-for content - you'll do better in the search engines. Your web site's URL (the www address) is submitted to the search engines each month that you make changes to even just one page. This submission process is a monthly reminder to each search engine to come back and revisit your site. That way, they see the updates you've added and they learn more about your services.

The search engine recognition is a long process: it once took months or over a year to be recognized by search engines. Ironically, there is so much competition by the major search engines to each other that they more often scour the web. No more paying for your site to be submitted! Even so, it can take months before your site starts to rank well. Each page on your website is competing with billions of competing web site pages!

We have tracked how long it's taken different clients to be found on the web. Ask us for a set of the results and we'll be happy to discuss them with you.

However, patience and persistence pays off! Our clients that are consistently adding the right new content to their web sites every month, year after year, are the ones who are ranking very well for many of the different keyword phrases.
